Today I wanted to go over how to start a blog with SiteGround. SiteGround is one of the biggest hosting companies. Other popular hosting companies include Bluehost, HostGator, GoDaddy, GreenGeeks and more. All of these hosting companies provide pretty much the same thing… which is basically just a place for your blog to live.
I only recommend two hosting companies to my new bloggers, one is BlueHost and the other is SiteGround. They both do pretty much the same thing but depending on your needs you might prefer one over the other.
You can read my BlueHost Review here.

SiteGround’s Basic Plan starts as low as $3.95/month
$3.95/month includes

- 10 GB Web Space
- 10,000 Visits Monthly (You can have more visitors but this is the happy spot for site speed and capability with this plan)
- Unmetered traffic
- Free email
*With SiteGround you will have to pay for your domain name. You can do this through SiteGround for $15.95 or through godaddy.com, or domains.google.com (both are around $12 for the year)
So, what are some of the reasons you might want SiteGround over other hosting Companies?
The biggest benefit as far as I have found during my time as a blogger is that SiteGround has the best speed for the cheapest price.
Why is speed important for your blog?
Well, have you ever clicked onto someone’s website and it took too long to load so you clicked away before reading anything? In that blogger’s eyes, you basically lost a customer.
When readers click away before reading anything on your site then they don’t have a chance to sign up for your email list, buy any affiliate products, or buy any of your products.
You want readers who find your site to stay on your site for as long as possible. A slow website prevents that from happening.
The one downside to SiteGrounds faster site speed is that you pay a little more for their base plan. But for some bloggers, this extra cost is worth it!
What does SiteGround’s Base plan get you?
- One Website
- 10 GB Web Space
- 10,000 Monthly Visits
- Plus all essential Features includes
- free website builder
- Free SSL and HTTPS
- Free Email Accounts
- Free Daily backup
- 24/7 Support and more!
If you have decided that SiteGround is the Hosting Provider for you then you can follow these steps.

Why Spark Your Blog?
We have been where you are! We got married, overspent, had a baby, and felt like we were drowning in student loan debt, bills, and every day expenses. Starting our first blog changed everything! With my little mommy blog, I was bringing in over 1k a month in less than a year with pretty minimal effort and maintenance (after I got the blog off the ground that is!)
That could be you too! If you have a few extra hours to spare each week think about what that extra income can do for you! And if you work really hard you can turn blogging from a side hustle into a full-time gig! It's possible!
So stop dreaming and start doing!
